Cookies

Like many other websites, we use ‘cookies’. Cookies are small text files that a website server saves on your hard drive. This automatically gives us access to specific data, e.g. IP address, browser used, operating system and your internet connection.

Cookies cannot be used to start programmes or spread viruses on a computer. Using the information stored in cookies, we can make navigation easier and allow our website to be displayed properly.

Data collected by us is never shared with third parties or linked with personal data without your consent.

You can of course also use our website without cookies. Web browsers are often configured in such a way that they accept cookies. You can generally disable the use of cookies at any time by changing your browser settings. Please use your web browser’s help section to learn about how to change these settings. Please note that specific functions of our website may not work if you have disabled cookies.

Contact form

If you contact us by e-mail or through the contact form with any questions, you are providing us with your consent for the purposes of getting in touch. You must provide a valid e-mail address for this. This is used to assign the request and then respond to it. Providing further data is optional. The information provided by you will be stored for the purpose of processing your query, and for the purpose of any potential follow-up questions. Personal data is automatically deleted once your request has been resolved.

Using Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google Inc. (hereinafter ‘Google’). Google Analytics uses ‘cookies’, i.e. text files that are saved on your computer that allow website use to be analysed. The information collected by the cookie about your use of this website is generally sent to a Google server in the USA and saved there. Due to the activation of IP anonymisation on these web pages, your IP address is truncated by Google before it is sent within the European Union Member States or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. A full IP address is only sent to a Google server in the USA and truncated there in exceptional cases. By order of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate the use of the website, to prepare reports about website activities and to provide other services to the website operator that relate to website and internet use. The IP address sent from your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

The purposes of data processing are to evaluate the use of the website and compile reports concerning website activities. Further related services may then be provided based on the use of the website and the internet. Processing is based on the website operator’s legitimate interests.

You can prevent cookies from being saved by changing your browser settings; please note that in this case, you may not be able to use all of this website’s functions properly. You can also prevent the data generated by the cookie relating to your use of the website (inc. your IP address) from being captured and processed by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available via the following link: Browser add-on to disable Google Analytics.

In addition to, or alternatively to the browser add-on, you can prevent Google Analytics tracking on our pages by clicking on this link. In doing so, an opt-out cookie will be installed on your device. Future capture by Google Analytics will be prevented for this website and for this browser provided that the cookie is still installed on your browser.

Using Google Maps

This website uses Google Maps API to visually represent geographical information. When using Google Maps, Google also collects, processes and uses data about how visitors use map functions. You can find more information about how Google processes data in Google’s privacy policy. You can also change your privacy settings in the data centre there.

You can find further instructions on managing your own data in connection with Google products here.

Embedded YouTube videos

We embed YouTube videos on our website. The operator of these plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. If you visit a page that contains the YouTube plugin, a connection is made with YouTube servers. In doing so, YouTube is notified about which pages you visit. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you are allowing YouTube to directly associate your surfing behaviour to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account first.

If a YouTube video starts, the provider uses cookies that collect information relating to user behaviour.

If you have disabled cookies for the Google Ad programme, these cookies won’t be used, even if you view Youtube videos. However, YouTube also stores non-personal user information in other cookies. If you want to prevent this from happening, you have to block cookies from being stored in your browser.

You can find more information about data protection and ‘YouTube’ in the provider’s privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/

Social plugins

Social plugins from the following list of providers are used on our website. The plugins can be recognised by their logo.

These plugins may send information concerning personal data to the service provider and this information may be used by the service provider. We prevent the unintended and unwanted capture and transmission of data to service providers by using a 2-click solution. You have to click on the corresponding button first to activate the desired plugin. Only if the plugin is activated is information captured and sent to the service provider. As a company, we do not collect any personal data through the social plugins or the use of those plugins.

We have no influence over what data is collected by a plugin and how this is used by the provider. We currently have to assume that a direct connection is made with the provider’s services and as a minimum, the IP address and device-related information is captured and used. There is also the possibility that the service provider will try to save cookies on the computer or device used. Please refer to the respective service provider’s privacy policy to find out what specific data is captured and used. Note: if you are signed into Facebook, Facebook can identify you as a visitor to a specific site.

We have embedded social media buttons from the following companies on our website:

Google AdWords

Our website uses Google conversion tracking. If you are directed to our website via a Google advert, a cookie will be placed on your machine by Google Adwords. The cookie is placed on a machine for conversion tracking if a user clicks on a Google advert. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages on our website and the cookie has not yet expired, the fact that a user has clicked on the advert and has been directed to the page via an advert can be recognised by us and by Google. Each Google AdWords client receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be kept track of via the AdWords customer’s website. The information obtained by the conversion cookie is used to compile conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. The customers can find out the total number of users that have clicked on their adverts and have been directed to the page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can personally identify the user.

If you don’t want to take part in tracking, you can reject the cookies required for this from being used - for example by changing browser settings that generally deactivate cookies from automatically being accepted, or by changing your browser settings such that cookies are blocked from the ‘googleleadservices.com’ domain.

Please note that you cannot delete opt-out cookies if you don’t want measurement data to be recorded. If you have deleted all of the cookies stored in your browser, you must reinstall the respective opt-out cookie.

Changing our privacy policy

We reserve the right to update this privacy policy so that it corresponds with currently applicable legal requirements, or to implement changes to our services in the privacy policy, e.g. if we introduce new services. The new privacy policy will then apply on your next visit.
